In preparation for Bangladesh's 50th anniversary of independence in 2021, this article offers a concise overview of the measures taken by the country to uphold human rights. Human rights as a framework for law and politics follows a brief overview of their background and theory, this study analyses the protection of fundamental rights guaranteed by the Bangladeshi constitution from 1971 until 2021 and the institutional and legal structures put in place to ensure their implementation. In addition to discussing the problems with human rights enforcement, the paper lays out a plan to fix them by implementing various reforms in the areas of law, administration, and the courts that would make it easier to punish those responsible for human rights abuses, compensate victims, and prevent future abuses. The importance of the various players' (legislative, executive, and judicial) positive commitment in preserving and safeguarding civil liberties in Bangladesh is emphasised towards the end. Fundamental freedoms enforcement and Bangladesh's capacity to empower its inhabitants are both hampered by the intricacies of national laws and politics, which are the subject of this paper's analysis.
