Abstract:
This study explores the effectiveness of mindful drawing as an intervention for alleviating depressive symptoms. Depression is a widespread mental health issue that significantly impacts individuals' quality of life. Current treatment methods, including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy, have limitations in terms of side effects and accessibility. Mindful drawing, which combines mindfulness practice with artistic creation, may offer a promising non-invasive, low-cost alternative. This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the impact of mindful drawing on depressive symptoms, emotional regulation, and life satisfaction. Results are anticipated to show significant reductions in depressive symptoms and improvements in emotional regulation and overall mental health in the intervention group compared to the control group. These findings could provide valuable evidence supporting the use of mindful drawing as an adjunctive treatment for depression, especially for individuals resistant to traditional therapies.
