Abstract:
This work evaluates the impact of short-circuit, broken phase, and overload in a transmission network. The chosen network is modelled in Matlab Simulink software. Further, the network currents and voltages undergo abnormal behavior when short-circuit, broken phase and overload come into play. Moreover, some interesting phenomena are investigated such as symmetrical and asymmetrical short-circuit, current troughs, voltage fluctuations or Flicker effect. The paper also presents a review of some electrical faults, the effects of those electrical faults, and some devices of some protection devices.
