Christian Religious Education plays a vital role in nurturing faith identity and guiding ethical formation among believers. In rapidly urbanizing and culturally diverse cities such as Batam, Indonesia, CRE faces the dual challenge of affirming Christian distinctiveness while fostering constructive engagement with religious and cultural plurality. This study explores the theological foundations and pedagogical strategies employed in Batam to cultivate resilient Christian identities in a multireligious context. Drawing on a qualitative descriptive research design, data were collected from three Christian schools through semi-structured interviews with eight teachers, four administrators, and twenty students, supplemented by classroom observations and document analysis. Thematic analysis was employed to identify patterns in theological reflection, pedagogical practice, and interfaith engagement. Findings reveal that CRE in Batam is grounded in Scripture, centered on Christ, and guided by the Holy Spirit, providing clarity and confidence for educators and students navigating pluralistic realities. Contextualized and dialogical pedagogies—incorporating case studies, service-based projects, and culturally relevant teaching materials—enable students to critically engage with both faith and diversity. Exposure to interreligious interactions fosters intercultural competence, empathy, and ethical reasoning, while sustaining spiritual formation. Urban theology informs educational practice by connecting biblical principles with social realities such as migration, economic disparity, and community engagement. This study underscores that pluralism is not a threat but an opportunity for holistic faith formation. By integrating theological grounding with contextualized pedagogy, Christian education in Batam equips students to embody Christ-like love, justice, and reconciliation in a complex, multicultural society.
