This study is positioned at the interface between asylum seekers' experiences in Ireland and the National Action Plan Against Racism (NAPAR), examining the influence of national and EU policy on the lived experiences of asylum seekers. By analysing the historical development of asylum policies, the intentions and practice of NAPAR, as well as the experiences of asylum seekers, the article calls attention to the necessity of inclusive evidence-based racism prevention and integration promotion strategies. Trial Deck recommends public policy analysis, case studies, and existing literature in offering potential strategies for the implementation of a more equitable society.
