Abstract:
Mel Gibson's movie APOCALYPTO calls into question the 'noble savage' by depicting indigenous Mayans engaging in human sacrifice, and also questions the deeper belief among 'post-Christian' Europeans in a 'universal natural ethic' that is superior to Christianity and that otherwise all people everywhere observe.
