Advancements in Intrusion Detection Systems: Challenges and Future Trends in the Era of Intelligent Transportation SystemsIntelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) have transformed modern transportation networks by integrating advanced technologies, communication systems, and data analytics. However, this interconnectivity has introduced a new set of challenges related to cybersecurity. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) play a pivotal role in safeguarding ITS from cyber threats. This journal article explores the realm of ITS intrusion detection, covering challenges, trends, practical implementations, evaluation metrics, regulations, and collaborative efforts. The introduction establishes the significance of IDS within ITS, emphasizing the vulnerability of interconnected transportation networks. The subsequent sections delve into the intricacies of ITS and IDS, highlighting the role of IDS in detecting anomalies and potential security breaches. The challenges section addresses issues such as high data volumes, dynamic environments, and real-time processing requirements, while the future trends section envisions the impact of threat intelligence sharing, context-aware detection, IoT integration, and blockchain. Real-world case studies exemplify successful IDS implementations in ITS, offering lessons learned and insights into performance evaluation across different scenarios. Evaluation metrics, both traditional and specialized, guide the assessment of IDS effectiveness. The landscape of regulations and standards is explored, from government guidelines to industry norms, underscoring the importance of aligning ITS security with general cybersecurity frameworks. The conclusion underscores the collaborative efforts required to ensure the security of ITS. By recapitulating challenges, trends, and the road ahead, it reinforces the need for unity in the face of evolving threats. In a landscape where transportation systems are increasingly intelligent and connected, robust intrusion detection measures are crucial to maintaining the integrity, safety, and resilience of ITS networks.

The New Hybridized Model for the Standard Pooling ProblemThe term "pooling problem" describes a situation in which a variety of products are blended together in a set of pools so that the combined products' qualities must meet specific standards before they can be transported downstream or to the intended audience when needed. Several models and approaches to solving the related blending & transportation process issues have been developed. We specifically recognized the difficulties caused by certain contemporary models' inability to process big dataset instances in a fair amount of time, as well as the difficulties associated with enhancing the lower bound of the relaxation solution methods utilized and optimizing product quality.
Thus, we present a new hybridized reformulation (NHYB-) and its associated solution method to handle the above challenges. We also considered some Mathematical properties of the formulated model. To illustrate the flexibility, robustness and smart nature of the proposed new hybridized models (NHYB-), the simulation study to generating large instances of dataset was carried out. Again, the applications of the simulated and lifetime data from the literature to the new hybridized reformulation of standard pooling problems were carried out with a few graphical illustrations
Results showed that our formulated NHYB- performed greedily over the existing ones. By implication, our model demonstrates strengths in the area of time management, optimal solution and tenacity to handle larger instances which others could not handle.

PARTICLE SIZE EFFECTS ON ANTIOXIDANT POTENTIAL AND LARVICIDAL EFFICACY OF ESSENTIAL OIL FROM Lippia chevalieri (Mold) LEAVES ON Anopheles gambiae s.l. (Diptera: Culicidae)A new approach to enhancing plant activities is encouraged. Fresh leaves of Lippia chevalieri were dried, ground and fractionated into granulometric classes (≤ 212 µm; 212 - 425 µm; ≥ 425 µm) by sieving. The essential oils (EOs) were analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) coupled with mass spectrometry (MS). Antioxidant activity was evaluated using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) tests. Larvicidal efficacy was tested on Anopheles gambiae s.l. under laboratory conditions. Particle size had a significant influence (p < 0.05) on the phytocompounds, antioxidant and larvicidal properties of the EOs. Comparatively, the number of phytochemicals decreases as we move towards fine particles. The ≤ 212 µm EO fraction exhibited higher DPPH (IC50 = 78.2 ± 2.24 μg/mL) and FRAP (48.72 ± 0.028 mgAAE/gEO) activities than did ascorbic acid. Fresh leaves, dry leaves, unsieved powder and large particles (≥ 425 µm) induced significant (P < 0.05) concentration-dependent larvicidal activity, with LC50s of 1,93, 1.55, 1.68 and 2.11 mg/mL, respectively. Grinding followed by sieving results in the accumulation of the majority of antioxidant compounds in the EO of fine particles. Drying and grinding increases the larvicidal efficacy of the plant, while fractioning into fine particles progressively reduces the efficacy as a function of particle size.

A Study of Rhetorical Devices Used in Editorials of Pakistani English NewspapersThis thesis explores the role and significance of language and rhetoric in English newspapers in Pakistan, analyzing their impact on readers and the construction of meaning within news discourse. By examining various linguistic and rhetorical strategies employed by newspapers, this study aims to provide insights into how language choices influence public perception and shape societal discourse. The purpose of this study is to examine rhetorical devices used in the editorials of Pakistani English newspapers. In this regard, data was collected from two Pakistani English newspapers "The News International" and "The Nation". Using a purposive sampling technique, 20 articles were selected; 10 editorials from each journal, published from March 2023 to May 2023. A mixed method was used to identify the answers to concerned research questions. Qualitative analyzes are conducted in several English-language newspapers to examine language patterns and rhetorical strategies. The results showed that editorial writers used eight rhetorical devices, namely: parallelism, antithesis, repetition, hyperbole, metaphor, anaphora, irony and rhetorical question. This study would be helpful for future researchers, especially the ones who are interested in studying the newspaper discourse.
