The Role of Fiscal and Monetary Policy in Addressing Inflation in the Tunisian EconomyThis study investigates the effectiveness of fiscal and monetary policy tools in controlling inflation in Tunisia over the period 1990–2024. Using the ARDL (Autoregressive Distributed Lag) model and EViews 12 for empirical analysis, the study explores both short-run and long-run dynamics between inflation (measured by the Consumer Price Index) and a set of key macroeconomic indicators, including the deposit interest rate, official exchange rate, oil revenues, GDP per capita, and total national expenditure. Results from the Unrestricted Error Correction Model (UECM) confirm the existence of a short-run self-correction mechanism, with about 47.7% of disequilibrium being corrected each period. The deposit interest rate exhibits a significant positive effect on inflation in both the short and long run, indicating that monetary policy actions, particularly interest rate adjustments, play a central role in shaping price behavior. Conversely, GDP per capita shows a negative but statistically weak long-term relationship with inflation, suggesting limited influence. Other fiscal indicators, such as oil revenues and public expenditure, appear to have unstable or insignificant effects. These findings highlight the complex interplay between macroeconomic variables and inflation, reinforcing the need for coordinated fiscal and monetary strategies, improved spending efficiency, and structural reforms to stabilize prices and enhance economic resilience.

EFFICIENT LAND ADMINISTRATION SYSTEMS FOR SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN UMUNNEOCHI L.G.A, ABIA STATE, NIGERIAEfficient land administration systems (LAS) are critical for promoting socio-economic development, particularly in rural areas like Umunneochi Local Government Area (L.G.A.) in Abia State, Nigeria. This study explores the role of LAS in facilitating secure land tenure, economic growth, and sustainable development in Umunneochi. Using a mixed-method approach, including surveys, interviews, and secondary data analysis, the study identifies challenges such as outdated land records, bureaucratic inefficiencies, and lack of digitalization. It proposes strategies for improving LAS, including the adoption of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), legal reforms, and community engagement. The findings highlight that an efficient LAS can enhance agricultural productivity, attract investments, and reduce land disputes, thereby fostering socio-economic development in Umunneochi.

The Impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on Institutional Quality and Economic Growth in Tunisia: An Economic AnalysisThis study aims to analyze the impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on institutional quality and economic growth in Tunisia using statistical analysis via SPSS software. A purposive sample of 300 participants was selected, including investment officials, representatives of governmental bodies, economic experts, and academics. The study relied on primary data collected through surveys, in addition to secondary data from official sources such as the World Bank and the National Institute of Statistics in Tunisia. Various statistical tools were used, including frequency analysis, Pearson correlation test, and multiple regression analysis to examine the relationship between the variables.
The results indicated a strong positive relationship between FDI and institutional quality in Tunisia, with a correlation coefficient of 0.72 (p < 0.01), indicating a significant positive effect. Furthermore, FDI was found to have a positive impact on economic growth, with the multiple regression analysis showing an effect size of 0.65 (p < 0.05). When institutional quality was included as an intermediary variable, the effect size increased to 0.79, reinforcing the role of institutional quality in enhancing the impact of FDI on economic growth in Tunisia.

Socio-economic implications of oil exploitation in the coastal area of Ondo State, NigeriaGlobal and national records have shown that petroleum stands out as the mainstay of the Nigerian economy over the decades. This resource has significantly improve the national income of the nation and relatively provide gainful employments for significant citizenries. However, the continuous crude oil exploration and exploitation activities continues to gain global attention. This is as a result of the incessant environmental degradation, which have directly and indirectly tampered with the means of livelihood. In view of this, the study socio-economic implications of oil exploitation in Ilaje local government area of Ondo State, Nigeria. unimaginably impacted on the growth, development, civilisation and sustainability of the Nigeria’s spatial development than any other natural resources recorded in the past decades. However, the impacts recorded over the decades do not translate to sustainable land utilisations, management and development in the coastal areas of Nigeria, where oil exploitation processes have resulted into intense environmental degradation, ecological devastation and the diverse physical planning distortion in Ilaje Local government area. The paper adopted direct observation, questionnaire administration and oral interview respectively in the quest to obtain the needed data. The paper identified distortions in land uses, land degradation, increased poverty and difficulty in land use planning. The paper therefore as a result of the effects of oil exploitation, advocated for land appropriation in the coastal area, use of bioremediation approach, and empowering interviewing organisation towards revamping the deplorable ecological landscape of the area. Keywords: Physical Planning, Oil Exploitation, Degradation, Poverty. The continuous degradation of environmental ecosystems (land, water and soil) resulting from crude oil exploration and exploitation activities continues to gain global attention. This study investigates the effects of crude oil exploration and exploitation activities on soil, water and air in the study area.
