DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15410897
PDFView Article
This study delves into examining the financial performance of Deposit-Taking SACCOs (DTSs) in Meru County, Kenya. It places particular emphasis on the impact of different debt collection strategies on their overall prosperity, while also shedding light on the essential role played by efficient credit management practices. The financial performance of Deposit-Taking SACCOs (DTSs) in Meru County, Kenya, is examined in this study in relation to debt collection policies. The goals of the study are to comprehend the ways in which various debt collecting tactics affect financial results and evaluate the wider ramifications of these practices in relation to credit management procedures. The study also examines how credit term constraints affect financial performance and the advantages of capital adequacy. Three theoretical stances transactional cost, portfolio, and agency theories form the foundation of the study. To guarantee a balanced representation of respondents from different departments within DTSs, a stratified random sample technique was used. Participants were given self-administered questionnaires to complete as part of the study's correlation survey design, which collected primary data. Out of the 16 DTSs in Meru County, a sample of 120 responders was selected. In order to assess the associations between variables and test hypotheses, the data analysis process involved the use of inferential statistics, including regression analysis and correlation. The results show that while stringent lending term limits can reduce profitability, efficient debt collection practices greatly improve SACCOs' financial success. This study emphasizes how important well-designed debt collection procedures are in assessing DTSs' financial stability.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15410926
PDFView Article
Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are vital to the economic development of Saudi Arabia, contributing significantly to job creation, innovation, and economic diversification. The advent of digital technology has introduced e-platforms as essential tools for MSMEs to enhance their operations, reach new markets, and improve competitiveness. This research paper explores the impact of e-platforms on MSMEs in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the benefits, challenges, and prospects. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, collecting data from secondary sources such as previous reports and studies, and case studies. Findings indicate that e-platforms have significantly improved market access, operational efficiency, and innovation among MSMEs. However, challenges such as lack of digital skills, high implementation costs, cybersecurity concerns, and regulatory barriers hinder the full adoption of e-platforms. Implementing digital skills training programs, providing financial support, enhancing cybersecurity measures, and investing in digital infrastructure. By addressing these challenges, Saudi Arabia can create a conducive environment for MSMEs to thrive in the digital economy, ultimately contributing to the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals.

Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Tourism Growth: Evidence from Southern Vietnam Destinations
DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15561056
PDFView Article
This study evaluates the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) applications on tourism development at key destinations in Southern Vietnam. Employing a convergent parallel mixed-methods design, we collected quantitative data through an online survey of 350 domestic and international tourists and qualitative insights via 12 semi-structured interviews with industry stakeholders. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses reveal that recommendation engines significantly enhance visitor satisfaction (β = 0.42, p <0.001), chatbots predominantly improve perceived operational efficiency (β = 0.35, p < 0.001), and dynamic pricing exerts a moderate positive effect on both outcomes (β ≈ 0.15–0.17, p < .05). Thematic analysis identifies infrastructure readiness, human capital and managerial support, regulatory clarity, and government incentives as critical determinants of AI adoption. Monte Carlo simulations further demonstrate synergistic gains when deploying recommendation engines, chatbots, and dynamic pricing in combination, suggesting multiplicative benefits beyond individual effects. These findings underscore the importance of integrated AI strategies—supported by robust data infrastructure, comprehensive workforce training, and clear policy frameworks—for fostering sustainable tourism growth. Implications for destination managers and policymakers include phased implementation of AI tools, strategic investment in digital infrastructure, and the development of tourism-specific data-privacy regulations to mitigate adoption barriers.

Higher Education and Artificial Intelligence: Case of Mali
DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15617593
PDFView Article
Artificial intelligence is an emerging field that is generating increasing interest in higher education sectors in many countries, including Mali. The integration of artificial intelligence in higher education can offer several benefits. For example, AI can be used to analyze large amounts of educational data, enabling teachers and decision-makers to make more informed decisions to improve education systems and curricula. AI can also be employed to develop adaptive learning tools that adjust to the needs and learning pace of each student. These tools can provide personalized learning experiences by offering study recommendations, additional exercises, and instant feedback. Moreover, artificial intelligence can be utilized in academic research in Mali. Researchers can leverage machine learning techniques and data analysis to process complex datasets and extract relevant insights. This can contribute to advancing knowledge in fields such as health, agriculture, economics, and other disciplines. However, it is important to note that the integration of AI in higher education also raises challenges and ethical questions. For instance, it is necessary to ensure the protection of student data and to guarantee that decisions made by AI systems are transparent and fair. The evolution of AI in education in Mali could help address specific challenges in the country’s education system while opening new perspectives to improve the quality and accessibility of higher education. Thus, the integration of AI in education in Mali presents significant advantages, but challenges remain, particularly regarding resources and training. The article emphasizes the need for a strategic approach to maximize the impact of AI on human capital (education system) and the socio-economic development of the country.

Brent Oil Prices, Demand, and Oil Emissions in Indonesia: Long-Term Evidence
DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18081006
PDFView Article
This study analyzes the effect of Brent oil price and oil demand on oil emissions in Indonesia during the period 1990-2023. This study was analyzed using multiple linear regression, while the data were obtained from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), World Development Indicators (World Bank). The results showed that Brent oil price has a positive and significant effect on oil emission, as well as the variable of oil consumption or demand has a positive and significant effect on oil emission. Although economic theory predicts that higher oil prices will reduce energy consumption, this effect is less pronounced in Indonesia due to government fuel subsidies. This finding has several important policy implications. First, the government needs to evaluate its fuel subsidy policy, which has been suppressing domestic prices, as large subsidies weaken the mechanism of controlling emissions through energy prices. A more realistic energy price adjustment could encourage consumption efficiency and reduce emissions. Second, the high oil consumption in the transportation sector emphasizes the importance of developing efficient and environmentally friendly public transportation, as well as encouraging the use of energy-efficient vehicles. Third, energy diversification towards renewable sources is a strategic step to reduce dependence on oil and reduce long-term emissions. Overall, the integration of economic, energy, and transportation policies is necessary for sustainable economic growth without increasing environmental pressures.
